Hello, I’m Elsabé…
I have been creative all my life and put my passion on hold for a few years to study engineering, got married and have two very busy boys. Drowning in work, kids and house chores killed my spirit and I decided to add a creative project to my to-do list. Born from a charity project that I devoted my creative time to (illustrating 13 shelter dogs for a Calendar for Dogtown) emerged commission requests for pets and led to creating an illustration business.
Illustrations by Elsabe was born and grew into an art and illustration service where I am enjoying all kinds of commission requests. Initially personal commissions (art used by the client in their home, not for resale) was my main focus with pet portraits, cute family portraits, functional art products and home décor art pieces.
Sparked by creativity and passion the personal commission work soon grew into commercial art projects starting with functional art items, textile pattern design and now my main focus – children’s book illustration!
I never stop learning and love exploring new techniques, styles, mediums, concepts. I am a big believer in ongoing education and improving your craft at every opportunity. Online courses, art books, tutorials, connecting with other illustrators, learning and being part of critique groups all aid in constant improvement while building up the illustrator community.
Working with passionate clients and bringing visuals to their ideas brings me indescribable joy.
I would love to hear from you! Leave me a message below and tell me more about who you are and where you are on your journey – whether you are a client looking for information on your project or a fellow creative wanting to connect.
